So immediately after getting my Honda Shadow VLX 600, I had already ordered a bunch of accessories and gear to go with it. My idea is to use it for commuting and cruising with Anita as passenger.

This is the original Shadow without me adding al the gear to it:

This is now how it looks after installing some accessories to make it a joy to ride on.

Accessories installed:

• Tinted windshield
• Fork roll bag
• Added gel foam inside seats
• Passenger bag (attaches to back rest)
• Aftermarket mirrors

Whatever it takes, I will not fall for tassels though like this guy’s VLX…

Some other stuff I did for maintenance:

• New air filter (took old one and there were pebbles inside!)
• Replaced rear tire
• New fork oil
• Lubed chain

Motorcycle gear I need to buy:

• Motorcycle jacket with armor
• Full face helmet
• Armored gloves
• Ankle high leather boots

I’m thinking of adding motorcycle pants to the list but we’ll see as most seem heavy and not nice to ride with.

I’m researching the possibilities and which are the best jackets and motorcycle gear including brands. I’m not looking for a sport bike look, just good leather gear or maybe some kind of textile jacket that can hold its own against rain as we get no snow here.
